Boys Amateur Championship: Ewen Ferguson and Conor Syme through to last 32

Scottish international Ewen Ferguson was in scintillating form as he swept into the third round of the Boys Amateur Championship at Royal Liverpool.
The 17-year-old from Bearsden was always in the driving seat against Lincolnshire teenager Billy Spooner and got home by 3&2.
Scottish schools champion Conor Syme, who fired a stunning 70 to qualify for the matchplay stages, moved into the third round with a tense last-green win over Italian Giacomo Garbin.
Adam Fisher from Newmachar made it three Scots into the next round when he overcame Vitor Lopes of Portugal by 3&2 in a game in which he was always ahead.
Ben Kinsley from St.Andrews and Alexander Wilson of the Renaissance Club were among those who had to play first round games, Kinsley winning and Wilson being pipped.
In the afternoon Kinsley battled hard against Carris Cup holder Ben Amor but went down by 2&1.
