Cap-hungry John Barclay sent a nudge to Scotland supremo Vern Cotter and insisted he his ready to relaunch his big stage career.
A combination of injury and selection snubs have kept the Scarlets flanker out of the Test spotlight for more than a year.
But former Glasgow hero Barclay is desperate to get back in the international fold in the build-up to the World Cup 12 months from now.
He reacquainted himself with BT Murrayfield at the weekend when he helped the Llanelli outfit claim a Pro12 draw with Edinburgh.
And he made it clear he would love to be back at the stadium for the autumn series tussles with the All Blacks and Argentina.
Barclay declared: “The past year has been frustrating. I had an operation on my shoulder, but that went wrong.
“I had been due to go on the Scotland summer tour, but had to call off to have further surgery to clean up the mess. It is good to have it fixed and to be fit again.
“To be honest, I don’t know where I stand as regards Scotland. Obviously, I still want to be playing at that level, but it is out of my hands.
“I haven’t retired and they know where the tapes of me are. I was 27 when I won my last cap and it would be frustrating if that ends up being my last.
“All I can do is keep performing for the Scarlets I am sure Vern sees the tapes, so it is up to him.”
Barclay added: “I had badly wanted to go on the tour in June, if just to make an impression on the new coach.
“As one of the top men in Europe, he will certainly know what he wants in his team.
“He will pick what he needs and in light of the way he wants his side to play. But I would definitely love to be involved.”
