Harris Academy turned on the style with a 31-10 win in their top-of -the-table BT Caledonia Division 2 (Midlands) clash at Alloa.
Both sides boasted unbeaten records before the match and a tight finish looked to be in prospect as the Elliot Road men reached the interval with a 7-5 lead, responding to an Alloa try from Martin McKenzie with a converted touchdown by Iain Ayton.
However, Harris clicked through the gears in the second period and their superiority up front created the platform for further scores by Owen McDonald, Mike Devlin, Pete Burgon while Stewart Walker took his kicking tally to 11 points and Andrew McTaggart dotted down for Alloa.
Carnoustie suffered a first loss of the campaign when they went down 18-15 at Grangemouth Stags.
Kinross maintained their solid start to the season when they chalked up a 17-13 win at Blairgowrie whose narrow defeat bonus point opened their account for the season and Stirling University took all five points from a 46-7 win at Panmure.
Madras and Howe of Fife seconds served up a cracking encounter, with the outcome hanging in the balance right to the final whistle.
The St Andrews men just had the edge, emerging as 30-24 winners to sit sixth in the table. Graham Smith, Andrew Hodge, Callum McIntyre and Craig Kelly had a try apiece for Madras, while Mike Morton booted 10 points.
Meanwhile, Hillfoots broke their duck in BT Caledonia Division 1 when they posted a 37-10 win over Morgan Academy.
Andrew Hamilton, David Cree, Ben Douglas, Gavin Paterson and Kenny Paterson had a try apiece for the Tillicoultry side, while Gregor Manson and Hamilton shared the kicking points.
Table-toppers Glenrothes travelled to face a Gordonians side that knew a home win would see them move into pole position. It proved to be a disappointing day for the Fifers who trailed 22-0 at half-time and had only a try by Michael Delorey, converted by Shaun Gray, to show for their second half efforts as they went down 37-7.
Strathmore returned from their trip to face Highland nursing a 49-16 defeat. with Strathie’s points coming through tries by Fraser Mackay and Ewen Hart plus two penalties from Stewart Ross.
Arbroath maintained a flawless start in Division 3 Midlands (East) with a fifth successive bonus point win when they eased past Glenrothes seconds 91-3.
Dundee University Medics remain Arbroath’s nearest challengers after chalking up a 30-5 win away to Fife Southern. Kirkcaldy seconds were 42-12 winners over their Falkirk counterparts, while Waid Academy posted a 34-12 success away to Strathmore seconds.
Stirling County seconds remain top of Division 3 Midlands (West) after swatting aside Alloa seconds 112-3.
