Howe of Fife and Currie stand-off George Horne has been selected for the 12-strong Scottish Thistles squad that will compete in the opening round of the GB7s at the Allianz Stadium, London.
The Scots take on Crawshays, British Army, and Wailers in their group matches.
Horne, who finished his schooling at Strathallan, was capped at under-20 level this season after impressing for the Premiership club Currie in his first year of senior rugby.
Last year was the inaugural GB7s tour and it featured recent or current international players from England, Wales, Scotland, Kenya and Nigeria and resulted in several emerging athletes moving up to their national squads after impressing selectors.
Scottish Thistles head coach Graham Shiel believes it will be much harder competition than the recent Kings of the Sevens circuit and the Legacy Sevens.
“The big thing is that every team will be fielding strong squads with players who are athletic and who understand the sevens game.”
The series is run over three consecutive weekends. The middle round will be staged at Meggetland and the final tournament at Eirias Park in Colwyn Bay and features eight teams who will divide into two pools of four.
