Dundee HSFP head coach Colin Robertson will stay at Mayfield for at least another season, the club have announced.
Robertson succeeded Ian Rankin at the start of this season when the long-serving head coach became vice-president of the SRU, but it had been an open-ended agreement for a season, by mutual consent.
After a large turnover of playing personnel following relegation from the RBS Premiership, under Robertson High have recovered to be among the contenders for promotion back to the top division from the National League, and still have an outside chance to gain entry to the promotion play-off place with two games remaining.
The club have moved to secure Robertson, the former coach of Scotland’s age-group teams from under-16s up to under-20s, before the end of the season to ensure stability for next term.
Club president Gerry Tosh said: “This sends out a great message to all players and supporters that the club is ready for all the challenges and that we are already preparing for the next campaign.”
Robertson said: “This will be my 25th consecutive year of coaching international, district or club rugby and I am delighted to commit to Dundee.”
