For the third time this season Howe of Fife got the better of Aberdeenshire when they met at Woodside.
Gary Horne’s troops scored eight tries to two with Howe leading by 15-7 at the break but stretching away to a comfortable 48-12 final scoreline.
Centre Joe Lawson had Shire’s first-half try, with Iain Redmond converting, then wing Mike McLugash added a second after the break but they had no answer to the Howe try machine once it clicked into gear.
No 8 Chris Mason grabbed a double and Graham Steedman, Stewart Lathangie, Ben Mitchell, Graham Thomson, Terry Turpie and Calum Willison had one each.
Dom Martin converted three and Cameron Ellison one which saw Howe end up with a more convincing scoreline than the one in the league a few weeks ago when Shire ran them pretty close.
In grim conditions at Beveridge Park, Falkirk’s 17-7 half-time lead over Kirkcaldy was enough to give them the spoils as both sides managed only a try each after the break to keep the margin the same at 22-12.
Although Falkirk top the RBS Caledonia Cup table at the moment, it looks like Aberdeen Grammar Rugby will go through to the national quarter finals as they sit second with nine points from two games with Howe on seven from two and Dundee five from two.
Saturday sees the return of RBS Championship B for the final time this year.
Kirkcaldy take on Aberdeenshire at Beveridge Park with a greater incentive than the visitors.
Kirkcaldy are 16 points behind Howe of Fife while Shire will be determined to improve on their current seventh spot in the table.
Howe travel to fifth-placed Haddington.
