PRO 12 chiefs have launched a double probe into Glasgow’s ill-tempered clash with Munster on Friday.
The clubs have been locked in a tit-for-tat accusation battle since the Warriors lost their unbeaten record in controversial circumstances.
First, Munster lock Donncha O’Callaghan claimed he had been bitten on the arm by an un-named home player.
Then, less than 24 hours later, Glasgow chiefs lodged a complaint with the citing officer, alleging substitute scrum- half Niko Matawalu had been the victim of “dangerous foul play.”
Again, the identity of the alleged perpetrator was not divulged. A Glasgow spokesman said: “We have formally written to the citing commissioner to draw his attention to this.
“The matter is now with him and Celtic Rugby to review as part of their disciplinary process.”
Meanwhile, Scotland winger Tim Visser is also expected to discover the extent of the ankle damage he suffered during Edinburgh’s Pro12 win against Treviso.
Visser looks likely to miss the autumn Test series against Japan, South Africa and Australia.
