Edinburgh hooker Stuart McInally has extended his contract until May 2018 and will captain the team in the European Challenge Cup fixture against Agen.
McInally said: “I’m really happy to have extended for another couple of years.
“I’ve been part of this process of rebuilding the club since Alan (Solomons) arrived, I’m now coming through in my new position as hooker and it’s a really exciting place to play at the moment.”
Head coach Solomons said: “It is great news for the club that Stu has decided to remain with us.
“He is a terrific player, a great bloke and an outstanding leader. I firmly believe that he will play a huge role in the future of the club. I look forward to continuing to work with him.”
There are 11 changes to the team to face Agen at BT Murrayfield from the side which beat Treviso last week in the PRO12, as a number of Scotland players are rested.
