Tommy Seymour has denied Glasgow are a pale shadow of last season’s selves and insisted they can still make Heineken Cup history.
The defiant Scotland winger is convinced the Warriors can turn their talents into precious points and reach the knockout stages for the first time.
Seymour will lead the attack against Cardiff Blues at Scotstoun on Friday, knowing anything other than a bonus point win will spell the end of their tournament campaign.
He firmly believes they will get the business done on home turf.
The US-born speed merchant said: “We will be looking to go out there and do what we have done to teams in earlier parts of the year.
“People may want to tell us we are not clicking like last season.
“But just because we might not be performing so attractively doesn’t mean we are not get getting some great results. We have the same guys and the same coaches.
“And we have ground it out to win some very tough matches against teams who would have beaten us last year.
“I know we can do even better and put six tries on sides. But it is also a sign of growth in the squad that we are able to go and grind out wins in close games.”
Seymour added: “I don’t want to go on about what we should have done or what should have happened last weekend in Cardiff.
“I can assure everyone that the guys here put their bodies on the line every week for the club and their fans.
“Sure we were disappointed, collectively and individually about that result and I do really think we can rescue our European campaign, as do everyone connected with the Warriors.
“Beating the Blues and then winning against Exeter Chiefs and Toulon is definitely not beyond our capabilities.
“It will be great to get back to Scotstoun because our fans lift us. As a pro sportsman, you never want your latest memory to be a negative one.”
