Alan Solomons has urged capital rugby fans to help Edinburgh become the first Scottish side to reach a Euro final.
The coach issued his plea as he set his sights on the Challenge Cup showdown with the Dragons at BT Murrayfield.
His troops defied the odds to snuff out the challenge of London Irish at the weekend in a drama-packed semi-final at Reading.
And Solomons was quick to admit it had been guts rather than slickness that had carried them through.
He said: “The important thing was that we stuck to the task.
“Our defence wasn’t up to the mark and we made errors at crucial times but I was very proud of the effort at the end.
“We really stuck to our guns.
“It’s enormous to be in a semi-final, particularly at home and I hope the supporters come out in droves a week on Friday.”
Edinburgh received another boost yesterday when prop Simon Berghan signed a new one-year deal.
The Scottish-qualified tighthead joined last season after spells with the Canterbury Academy and Crusader Knights.
Berghan said: “We have been building well as a team, which sets us up well for World Cup year.
“The win against London Irish was a good indication that we are well and truly going in the right direction.”
