William Hill have reported that a surprising 35% of bets placed on who will win the Six Nations have been for Scotland, who are currently offered at 14/1.
The favourites England have attracted 23% of bets and Wales 22%. Only 9% of bets have been for Ireland, 4% for France, with Italy not worthy of a mention.
The odds for the opening weekend Calcutta Cup are 9/5 Scotland, 4/9 England, 20/1 the draw.
