Morgan Academy posted a vital last-day win to secure survival in BT Caledonia Division One.
Morgan needed a win at home to Hillfoots to escape the bottom two.
First-half tries by Andy Clark and Kane Blair-Poole plus a Wallace Hubbard conversion gave Morgan a 12-10 lead at half time.
John Gorman extended the advantage with a touchdown early in the second half, and the bonus point score from Blair-Poole clinched a 22-10 win that moves Morgan to safety.
Hillfoots are safe but have two matches to play. However, the Tillicoultry men still have a key role in deciding the destination of the title.
They host second-placed Orkney on Saturday, when victory for the visitors will secure the silverware.
Their remaining fixture is against Highland, who are also not yet ruled out of topping the table after a 38-29 win away to Strathmore in a game blighted by injuries to Highland players, although none was serious.
Division Two (Midlands) challengers Harris Academy and Carnoustie still have a match to play against Stirling University.
Those fixtures have not yet been scheduled. Harris hold the initiative courtesy of a superior points difference.
The only match that did proceed saw Alloa travel to face Howe of Fife seconds.
Alloa took a step closer to securing third in the table and gave themselves a boost ahead of this month’s BT Bowl final at Murrayfield with a 68-10 win.
The Earlsfield men will complete their campaign with a trip to face Madras on Saturday.
In Division Three (Midlands), the match between Waid Academy and league leaders Kirkcaldy seconds was postponed.
Kirkcaldy’s position was strengthened after second-placed Arbroath lost 44-26 away to Grangemouth seconds.
That win has pulled Grangemouth clear of Dundee University Medics, who lost 24-14 at Stirling Bridgehaugh.
Falkirk seconds returned from the trip to face Perthshire seconds with a 60-7 win to their credit.
The top two sides in Division Four (Midlands) went head to head when pacesetters Fife Southern welcomed Stobswell. The Dundee side took the honours 27-14.
That result has trimmed the deficit at the top to three points.
The same sides are scheduled to clash again next week in the reverse fixture, which could settle the title race.
Third-placed Glenrothes seconds’ scheduled match at home to Alloa seconds was cancelled but the Fifers were awarded a 28-0 win.
It gives them five points and leaves the Carleton Park men third in the table, but coach Tom Hainey has already bemoaned the absence of competitive rugby for his development side in the league campaign.
