Rugby realist Alan Solomons reckons his Edinburgh side were on a loser against Euro giants Munster even before a ball was kicked at Murrayfield.
And the coach challenged his men to put Saturday’s nightmare behind them and “do themselves justice” when they square up to the Dragons this weekend.
Edinburgh whose only points came courtesy of a Tom Heathcote penalty take on the Welsh outfit in Friday’s Challenge Cup semi-final, with Solomons warning them they will have no chance unless they stage a rapid improvement.
He said: “There are no alternatives. We have to lift our level of performance
“We went in against Munster without six main players and then Dave Denton had to go off early in the first half. I think the loss of Denton was massive for us, massive.
“They were at full strength and performed really well. They have much greater depth than us, which reflects our respective budgets.”
