Gloucester supremo David Humphreys predicts he will be welling up with emotion when his troops go into Euro battle with Edinburgh.
The sides clash at the Stoop a week on Friday in the final of the Challenge Cup.
Director of rugby Humphreys reckons he will be happy at full-time, no matter the result.
The former Ireland playmaker explained: “Edinburgh coach Alan Solomons was in charge at Ulster for three seasons when I played stand-off for them, and he even made me captain.
“I know him very well and have an enormous amount of respect for him, both as a rugby brain and as a man.
“We were delighted to beat Exeter in our semi at Kingsholm, but I am aware that Alan will have Edinburgh very motivated and physically prepared for London the weekend after next.”
Humphreys added: “Their performance against the Dragons at BT Murrayfield was very impressive, the best I have seen them all season.
“We can count on one thing: that Edinburgh will be extremely well organised and mentally buoyant.”
Edinburgh skipper Mike Coman said: “We’ve really been developing as a club, and people probably doubted the way we have been going about it.
“But we’ve backed the tactics and the coaches, and now this is a real exciting time for everyone including the fans.
“It’s great to get to a final at the end of a tough season full of ups and downs. We’re also still in the hunt for sixth spot in the Pro12, which would give us Champions Cup rugby next season.
“We’ve got to stay grounded. There may be slip-ups along the way, but we’re going in the right direction.
“Gloucester are a very strong side, they will perhaps have some home advantage because the final is in England, but we will have to step-up to the challenge.”
