Scarlets 15 Edinburgh 26: Hidalgo-Clyne hails perfect result

Sam Hidalgo-Clyne reckons Edinburgh’s stunning triumph over Scarlets in Wales was the perfect result in their quest for Euro glory.
The new Scotland scrum-half sensation and his mates square up to London Irish on Sunday in the Challenge Cup quarter-final.
But more importantly, they have earned a great shot at a top six Pro12 finish and a ticket to the Champions Cup.
Man-of-the-match Hidalgo-Clyne said: “After the wooden spoon, it was great to get back to the club and earn a victory like this.
“We had tried not to look too far ahead in terms of our trip to Reading to face Irish because the Scarlets game was so massive in its own right.
“They put us under heavy pressure in the second half, but we worked hard to stay in front.”
Coach Alan Solomons said: “We are a very tight unit and we have faced a lot of challenges this season, so this result means a lot to us. It is fantastic to see our young players coming through.
“The Scarlets have had a wonderful recent record at home, so to beat them speaks volumes.”
Edinburgh scored two tries through Phil Burleigh and David Denton, with the other points coming from the boot of Hidalgo-Clyne.
