They thought he was all over. Well he isn’t now. Despite Fifa being mired in seemingly endless scandal and now having the Feds on the cases of his key lieutenants his ball seems far from burst. Of course he should resign but there isn’t much chance of that. The money that talks in football doesn’t just appear in brown envelopes. And the World Cup is the biggest tournament on the planet. The big bucks come not from sponsors but from a cool one billion of a television audience. At 79 years old the great survivor does not have his problems to seek but he won’t be wasting any sleep over the threat of a boycott. The European associations will huff and puff but no one will blow the World Cup money-making house down.
